In order to be eligible, you must make an online purchase from my Avon online storefront by August 31. The winner will be annouced on Tuesday.

The goody bag contains some makeup items, some lipbalms, a Moisture Therapy item, a Skin So Soft item, a Spectracolor lipstick ($7.99 value!), and a bunch of samples. This goody bag is sooo worth it!!

A new Favorite- Anew Night Cream

On Avon's website, 51 of 55 critics say they would use or buy Anew Rejuvanate Night Cream again. I think that is a pretty positive rating!
This night cream is meant for those 30-somethings (Yes, I'm one of them!) to help stop the aging process, well, kinda. Avon promises your skin will feel tighter in 7 days, and the appearance of wrinkles will reduce in 14 days. Over time, your pores will reduce in size by 30%.
I don't feel like I have wrinkles, but I'm only 32. I do have lines on my forehead, but they are from squinting and raising my eyebrows my entire life, and they are vertical lines...not horizontal!! I notice those more everyday, but I stare at them in the mirror. I don't expect miracles, but I do notice tighter skin, and I feel like my acne is clearing up.
This face cream is applied to your face at night, every night. It doesn't have an obnoxious or perfumed smell. I actually enjoy putting it on, it tingles (for me) for about 5 seconds and feels chilly on my skin. Other customers of mine have not reported any tingling sensation.

I am loving this Anew cream. Anew is a line of Skin Care, created by Avon and developed in the Avon Laboratories. It's not cheap, the 1.7 oz jar is $30, but I have been using mine for about a month now, and it is still over halfway full. It doesn't take a lot, just a dab to apply after you wash your face at night.

If you have tried this product, please post your feelings about it here, good or bad.

The beginning of Fall

The day is dragging on. Its a cool day, I don't think we will see 70 today or this weekend at all!
I've been really busy multi-tasking at work, stuffing envelopes filled with the In Bloom samples I offered on my website. All I keep thinking about is that its almost apple picking time! I want to go to the u-pick and go nuts! Really, I want some apple pie!! I love making apple pie, its one of my favorites.
Enjoy your day, I will have a new review for you tomorrow of a product I've been testing for 1 week now. I feel a difference, and I noticed fewer acne spots!! Gotta Love that!!

Wishing for Vacation

Today is one of those gloomy kinda days. Work hasn't been going so well this week. I had a deal fall through. Although both the buyer and seller are okay and understanding, I am upset. I don't have deals fall through often. It was bright, warm, and summery yesterday, and today we can expect rain and cool weather. We have had more days in the 70s than 80s and August is almost gone...and summer feels like it only arrived for a week or so.

Today is just that kinda day I wish I was on vacation! AB(amazing boyfriend) promised to take me to Vegas for my birthday in October, so I have been patiently waiting for October to arrive.

I should be working harder, but the drive isn't there...its in Vegas, waiting for me to arrive!

The doggie drama

I am a dog lover. I can't help it. And, I don't have one. Not one, two, three, none. I really don't have the yard for a dog. Plus, my AB (amazing boyfriend) isn't a dog lover. Yet. One day, though, I won't be able to stand it any longer and have to get one. Or two.

Currently, my sister and I volunteer monthly at the local shelter. Our job is called "Puppy Therapy" (no joke!). On our designated day, we head to the shelter, give the available puppies baths and make sure they are clean and up to date with their health, and take them to an assisted living (retirement) home. This week, we had only one puppy, an eight week old border collie mix who was as fluffy as a stuffed teddy bear, all black with a white stripe down his chest. He was the cutest!
He also got sick on the ride to the retirement home.
He then fell asleep. On laps. On Dolores' lap, on Dorothy's lap, on Leon's lap. And, Dolores was mad. "This is a stupid puppy. Its sleeping!"
I promise, I will bring a better puppy next time.

For one tired, sleepy puppy, it was in a room of about 25 golden apples (as I call them), all in a circle of chairs, walkers, and assisted moving devices. They each get a few minutes to hold and pet the puppy. This was the last time I would let someone tell me the puppy bit them. Yet, the sleeping puppy was accused of biting someone.

So, after the nurse came and "checked out" the puppy bite, I had to remind each golden apple--"Keep your fingers away from the puppy's mouth. Do not stick your fingers or hand in the puppy's face or mouth. It may bite you."

I can only take it for so long. The women grab the puppy, kiss it, get mad it didn't kiss them back. These women (sure, we get a few men every now and then, but its mostly women. With their makeup on and dressed in their Sunday best.) stick their long skinny fingers in the puppies face, especially the mouth, trying to force each and every puppy to lick them. Eventually, the puppies nibble and chew on their skin...thus we have a bite!

Sure, everyone loves a good lick now and then. But these women go to extremes to get it! lol

Glazewear Lip Gloss! On Sale for only $2.99

Today's item was my first purchase when Avon changed their policies and stopped testing on animals. Avon's Glazewear is newly improved and comes in 16 different shades and four different finishes (sparkle, clear, shine, or intense). If you are looking for color, try the intense shades! Clear is great by itself, over your favorite lipbalm or lipstick.
They are on sale today at my online store for only $2.99 each!! With free shipping, that's a great deal!

Mark Juice Gems and the no-alcohol Hangover!

These are mark's Juice Gems. They are fruity lip glosses that give a sheer hint of color, some flavor, and I love them. They each contain real fruit extract, so they have a slight hint of natural flavor. I have tried the honeydew and the snow peach. At only $6, these tubes are a good size and will last all season long!

Now, for the No Alcohol Hangover!: This morning, I woke up feeling like I drank too many margaritas and white russians (A horrible combination...NEVER drink these together!!).
My weekend was full of fun. I stayed at AB's (amazing boyfriend) on Friday night, and left early Saturday for the Farmer's Market. After snagging two gorgeous heirloom tomatoes in funky colors, a bunch of lovely exotic looking flowers for only $3.50 (my steal of the day!) and two freshly made chocolate chip muffins, I came home and started cleaning. I played online (when I surf the net, I refer to it as "playing" because time seems to just fly by) and then tried my hand at making chili rellajnos(sp?) I failed miserably.
Sunday, I did laundry, went grocery shopping (lots and lots of frozen pizzas, cheese, trail mix, and mac n cheese), and headed to Chicago to visit my good girlfriend, Fawn. We went to a play, ate some greasy pizza sold by the slice, and walked all over in the very humid hot weather. As a note, the Air and Water show just happened to be going on, which clogged the streets, sidewalks, and parks with tourists who didn't know where they were or where to go. I got AB some great spices from an amazing spice store for a gift, and then headed home to visit AB and eat (yet more) pizza and watch Iron Chef.
I forgot to drink water during my Sunday of running around, and woke up today feeling drained, full of blisters on my feet that resemble chickenpox, and I'm so crabby the entire office has left me here alone to answer the phones.
I need a nap. And, some footworks....ah...the next post (why didn't I grab my footworks cream??)
Have a beautiful day... Lisa

Its a beautiful Morning!

What a busy day I have planned for myself!
Today is a non-paid work day, which is called a "marketing day". I don't get my hourly rate, or even paid for the day, but its just not a day off. Instead, I use this day to meet with clients and market myself. Every Tuesday is my marketing day. I do not do any clerical work for the office or any part of my daily job duties today, which is nice. I can come and go as I please, and I like that even more.
Today, I am meeting a new client and showing them two homes (i'm a realtor). I also am asking my boss to come with me, because the client is new, and I am unsure about him right now.
On a slightly related but not so much note, I am picking up pepper spray today. I don't know why I don't already have it, but I am not going on any more showings without it.
I will also check up on some files of my own (I have 3 pendings right now!!) and meet my mom and sisters at the fair for lunch! We are going to see my two (count em, 2) second place ribbons for my entries of Banana nut Bread and pie. Not bad, for my first time, huh?

Then, my day rounds out with me dropping off some of my Avon books at local grocery stores and fast food places. My man is picking me up later this afternoon to take me to see the new Harry Potter movie, which we have been looking forward to seeing for a long time!

That's my day...and I can't wait to start it!! I can't wait for my cotton candy and lemonade!!
I love going to the fair to eat!!

don't pick on me!

What is wrong with people in this world? I am so sick of people mocking others for being themselves!
I think we should appreciate each other -- I can't stand those punk kids mocking each other or their parents or strangers for no reason at all.
I was walking in a store when a Mom was leaving. She had her daughter and another girl (maybe another daughter) with her. The mom dropped her keys, and the daughter made some rude comment and then looked at me for giving her a look.
No. 1: How rude. One day you will miss your mom. One day, you will be mad at yourself for treating your mom like that in public.
No. 2: Get used to going to the store with your mom, because no one else will tolerate your behavior, and you won't have many friends.
No. 3: The more you act like that, the unhappier and sadder you will become.

What's wrong with this world? In the days where some people don't answer your call, but will only text or twitter or facebook you. I want a normal conversation, complete with pauses, questions, laughs (yes, actually laughs, not the standard lmao or lol), and sighs.

Cleaning House

I wouldn't say I was the messiest person in the world, nor am I the cleanest. But, my avon has taken over the living room, and now I must clean.

I would post a picture, but its too embarrasing.

The only good thing is it is too hot outside to go and do stuff. Its hot, humid, sticky, and a heat index of 104. So, instead of going through my avon boxes upon boxes, I am here on blogger, playing with my shiny new blog.

My boyfriend is making dinner tonight. This morning, we went to the local farmer's market and got some beautiful eggplants, cremeni mushrooms, poblano peppers and a loaf of artisian bread. He is making steak tips with mushrooms, and we are going to have stuffed peppers and tacos later this week. I think the eggplant would go great with pasta---that can be another day!!
I love the farmer's market, and I love forcing myself to use up all the good eats I bought there. I know it sounds funny, but I could by all that stuff at the grocery store, pay about the same, and then put it in my fridge and let it mold. When I go to the farmers market, I feel like I am helping local people, the produce is fresh and local, and I feel good. That sounds funny...I feel good. I don't know why I feel good or why that sounds funny, it just does.

On another note, I have 8 large Avon Boxes I have for when I have my first home party. Anyone local want to throw an Avon party?? Its just like a tupperware party, but you feel more at ease to gossip and chat like you would if you got your hair done. I don't give makeovers or manicures, but we do try a lot of great products, and I have tons of samples to give everyone. I also plan on having a "try it" table with q-tips, kleenx, and cotton balls for people to try lipsticks, glosses, foundations, skin creams, and body sprays and colognes. Doesn't that sound fun?? Plus, the hostess gets free avon!!

Really Cool mark makeup cases!

My snap to it Mark brand Mezzo size case.

The pretty picture on the Avon website.

I love this item! For only $8, you can get the medium sized (Mezzo) snap to it case. This is a reusable makeup case that holds 2 blushes, 4 eyeshadows, or 1 blush and 2 shadows. I really like it! The combinations are almost limitless. Yes, you do have to purchase the makeup separately, but I think its highly worth it. I will also say, the eyeshadows are huge! At $4.50 per eyeshadow, these should last a long time! They are large, and the powder is super fine, which means it glides on easy and lasts. I think this is the best eyeshadow Avon offers.
You can find the shadows here: mark i-mark eyeshadow.
You can hunt for the perfect blush here: mark good glowing blush.

Happy Monday!

Its been a busy weekend!
Some work, some fun, and some rest!
Well, I've entered some items at my county fair, and I am so nervous, because they are due on Wednesday.
I entered banana bread, key lime pie, and my blueberry muffins. I spent Saturday getting all the ingredients, and now I am nervous!!! I will be up late on Tuesday making the pie (it needs time to set) and early Wednesday morning to bake the bread and muffins. Then, after work, I will head to the fairgrounds, items in hand, ready to be judged.
Its my first time entering into the fair's food contest. I do want to get one blue ribbon----that would make my summer!!
I hope everyone has a great week, I will post pics of my baked goods as soon as they are finished. I find out on Thursday if I got placed.
